New for 2024! We are excited to offer a new Walk Trot and In Hand Trail divisions for our competitors at fair.

In Hand Trail

In Hand Trail

  • Cross-entering in the in hand trail and other riding classes on the same horse is not allowed.

  • You may still enter riding classes on a different horse, in any division.

Walk Trot Division

The purpose of the Walk Trot division is to encourage exhibitors to participate in and experience show competition, even if they (or their horse) are not ready or safely able to lope.

Riders may NOT cross enter into a class where a lope may be required, even if riding a different horse.

Class placings/trophies will be awarded but points will not count towards overall points (buckles/all-around, etc), and Walk/Trot class winners will not be eligible to compete in Grand and Reserve classes.

Once an exhibitor has completed a walk/trot class at the fair, they are ineligible to compete in a class requiring loping, even in a different discipline or day of fair.

Walk Trot exhibitors may still compete in contesting classes (Flags, Speed and Action, Keyhole, Poles, Barrels) where the exhibitor must enter in the appropriate age/size division. However, they are still required to walk/trot their patterns and will still receive class placings/trophies but will not be eligible for buckles.

Remember, you entered the walk trot division in good faith to give your child show experience and build confidence. We please ask that if your horse and child are comfortable and capable of loping that you enter the appropriate classes. This specifically includes children capable of legitimately competing in contesting. If you are able to run your horse, you will not be permitted in the walk/trot classes. We are trying to keep it fair for everyone. The board reserves the right to make a decision on member eligibility per horse and rider combination if walk/trot eligibility comes into question.
